i’m not a mental health or drug addiction counselor.
But i do know that those who quite frequently use specific drugs (pretty much the ones that make you hallucinate)
come out to be quite intelligent.
More than intelligent actually. Though it does kill their brain cells [supposedly], it heightens a humans abilites in knowledge, reflex, and accuracy.

Minimization – “I only get drunk a couple of times a week. I know a guy who gets high every day. My problem is no big deal.”
Projection – “Holy cow I can hardly believe you drink so much! you must really have a serious problem!” – uttered by a confirmed alcoholic to another alcoholic
Intellectualization – “There is some research conducted in Europe which suggests that a red wine may actually IMPROVE one’s health. I am doing myself a favor by drinking a bottle or two before bed”
Diversion – “Hey, [group therapist] – did you notice on the news today that the price of gas has actually DROPPED?” – said by a group member on the ‘hot seat’ who would prefer to discuss anything OTHER than his/her drinking problem
Hostility – “You [group therapist] are a complete jerk. You have NO idea what we go through as addicts. You should have your license revoked. Don’t you DARE try to tell me how to live my life. I oughtta punch you in the face, you moron” – said by a group member to a group therapist
