Friend Plays WoW Too Much?

Question by The Dude: Friend plays WoW too much?
I have a friend thats like a brother to me, we hang out a lot and stuff. A couple years ago we both bought the game World of Warcraft and started playing it. We both enjoy playing the game, but I enjoy going outside and doing things with people in actual life a lot too. Lately it seems like our friendship is being brushed aside because of the game, when i want to hang out with him and our other friends, he never wants to, hes too busy playing WoW or some other excuse. Whenever i suggest going to the beach with our friends he looks at me like ive lost my mind. Its really starting to get under my skin how the game seems to be controlling his life now. Ive tried telling him that maybe hes getting too into the game and might be becoming addicted to it, but he refuses to see that thats a posibility. He always tells us that he can get up and walk away whenever he wants to, but he never does when WE want him to. Its starting to get a few of us upset that he never leaves home to do anything anymore, not even work. About a year ago, i began feeling like the game was controlling me too much, and began trying to move away from it slightly to make room for other thingsd like hanging out at the beach or in town with my friends, and he began accusing me of ‘abandoning’ him and started saying things like I “didnt care about our friendship if i stopped playing” or I “couldnt quit because if i did it would mean that I wasnt REALLY his friend, and hadnt ever been” and weird things like that. Ive cut WAY back on my hours on the cpu, and he seems to have increased his hours by double. If any of you have suggestions on what I/we (my friends and i) could do about this, or how to try talk to him about it, please let me know. Im beginning to think that the only way i can spare myself the frustration is by giving up on our friendship..
